Getting Started
Welcome to the course!
You will use the World Wide Web, e-mail, your textbooks and lectures to explore the topics covered in the traditional second course for computer science majors.
Please be aware that computer science and programming courses may require more time and energy than some other courses. You must be disciplined, as the programming projects come regularly and generally increase in difficulty as the semester progresses. Set up a regular schedule of between four and six hours per week to work on the projects. The reading may be accomplished either before or after the topics are discussed. Choose the approach that works best for you.
Please complete the assignments by the dates specified in the assignment schedule. Details will be discussed in the first class meeting. If you miss that session, be sure to meet with me to insure that the procedures are clear.
It is essential that you become familiar with the course materials right away. Explore the web site thoroughly, as it contains much of the information you'll need to succeed.
I look forward to working with you! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
